First Co Certified DOE Combination Ratings

Effective July 5, 2011, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a Final Rule (10 CFR Parts 429-431) that expands the existing certification, compliance, and enforcement requirements for all covered products, including Residential and Commercial HVAC products. As part of the Final Rule, all efficiency information for covered products must be on file with DOE. The following combination ratings have been submitted to DOE.

First Co. certifies that the capacity and SEER values shown are calculated using the methodology approved by the U.S. Department of Energy as specified in Section 430.23(M) of 10CFR Part 430. The calculation procedure utilizes the test data collected in accordance with ANSI/AHRI 210/240-2008 and has been validated by an independent test in accordance with DOE standards.

This is a searchable database for First Co. indoor air handlers and fan coils matched with selected outdoor air conditioners and heat pumps by other manufacturers.

DIRECTIONS FOR SEARCHABLE DATABASE:

1. Completing all the fields on the Search form is NOT required.

  • Search by a single field - For instance, if you enter “15” in the SEER field as the only search criteria, the search will display every single 15 SEER match with every manufacturer’s outdoor air conditioner or heat pump (displays over 1,000 listings).
  • Search by using multiple fields - Refine your search by using multiple search fields. For instance, if you’re looking for only the First Co. HX indoor models that match with Carrier 14 SEER outdoor units, put “Carrier” in the Outdoor Unit Manufacturer field, “HX” in the First Co. Indoor Unit Model Number field, and “14” in the SEER field (displays 45 listings).

  • 2. Enter only the first few characters of the model number you wish to search – Manufacturers may use dashes, asterisks, parentheses and commas in model numbers, which can affect the search results. For instance, the First Co. UCQB series is actually listed as “UCQ*”. Therefore, only search for “UC” or “UCQ”.

    3. Multiple Outdoor manufacturers can be selected if desired (Outdoor Unit Model Number field must be blank)

    4. Viewing the search results - Twenty five listings are displayed per page. The bottom left hand corner will show the total number of listings for each search.

    5. Print options – Print the search results in either PDF or Excel format. Florida requires a specific format (same data).

NOTE: When searching for outdoor models, keep in mind that several companies market their products under different trade names, such as:

    Heil / Arcoaire / Comfortmaker / Day & Night / Tempstar / Keeprite

    Armstrong / Airease / Concord / Ducane / Allied

    Nordyne / Gibson / Philco / Frigidaire / NuTone / Maytag / Kelvinator /Tappan / Westinghouse / Intertherm / Broan / Miller
